After reading a couple of the new threads in the Lounge, I'm wondering if there is enough justification for a forum devoted to ebay "follies". That is to say, auctions which are silly, criminally overpriced, or otherwise rating discussion and/or derision by the group.

What do you think?

Well, there's justification both for and against the idea, I reckon. However, I'm reluctant to increase the total number of forums here, and most of the threads are just a link and people generally saying "That person is stupid" and "Damn ripoff"...

I'd hate to see the lounge be diluted as the silliness center. I like the variety of the postings in there and the fact that there seems to be a lot of activity. After the MLA grows and the quantity of posts in the lounge becomes hard to follow I could see more specialization, but until it gets close to the way MacAch has one ridiculously broad forum for all things macintosh, I'd suggest leaving it alone.

Since there isn't that much to say about each dumb auction, we could always post about all of em in one thread; that is, if the lounge starts to get crowded up with that sort of thing.

But if there were a dedicated forum I'm sure I'd post in it: when I'm browsing ebay I have to restrain myself from posting all the dumb things I see over here. I especially like the people who suggest a 5200 all-in-one is the 'precursor to the iMac!' Hehe.

While stupid ebay auctions are extremely funny, I do not believe that there is a need for a forum dedicated to them. IMHO they are a Lounge topic.

lots of new forums being proposed. none are being made. probably because of how we've gotten on fine without them for all this time the top brass don't think they're necessary.
