Someone has just sprung on an idea that has potential to become Apple's entry into the world of environmental responsibility and recycling!

I see it as a distributed computing/self heading electric sofa combo. It would run a custom version of A/UX geared towards totally distributed computing with multi-threaded apps. Should match a G3 in performance and at a fraction of the cost. For those needing a multiple cluster system or more power there are link kits for connecting the items of furniture via gigabit ethenet. If this is a success we intend to investigate redundancy in the next revision as well as extending our range to include an accompanying armchair RAID array made of old Quantum hard disk, pitched at the massage-as-you-work market, a notice board constructed from old Newton Message pads for paper-concious people and a video wall for software demos made from a 52x39 array of SEs, allowng big screen displays of resolutions of to 512x384!

With 25 Mac II's there would be a respectable 400 MHz of processing power.

I love the couch, but it needs about 3 or 4 layers of old mouse pads for a seat cushion.

Here's a few more ideas for this ultimate Mac decor room. What if the room lighting came from a few dozen Apple RGB monitors in the ceiling? All of the monitors would be tied to a single Mac through a video signal splitter/signal booster. That way the room's mood would be defined by the color/desktop pattern you choose. (Hmmm... an entire ceiling all running After Dark )

I'd also make a giant clock or sculpture using 60 mice radiating from a central point on the wall. Mounting some keyboards flat-side up to the wall would make nice shelves. And you could make drink coasters for a Macquarium coffee table by gluing together 5x5 arrays of keycaps off of old keyboards. Not sure what to do with all the old 2400 baud modems, though???
