The 68kMLA SOP referred to (all of a sudden for some unknown reason) as the PizzaBox-PowerToggle™ for jump-starting the battery operated video subsystems of consumer Macs is expressly, NOT SUPPORTED by Apple Computer, and in fact, immediately voids warranty and violates the terms of the Applecare Extended Warranty if performed by end users. jt ™. I wasn't referring to that SOP, just the fact that an original LC doesn't require a PRAM battery at all to boot, you'll just lose all your settings.~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0

maybe we can all help to answer this question by listing any macs we know will boot without a PRAM battery I have booted the following with dead PRAM batteriesClassic II LC Performa 636 7100 and I can verify that a 6100 won't boot without a PRAM battery mathgeek 68K Macs Liberated: LC, Performa 636, Mac Classic II My Powerbook 1400 page http://www.its.caltech.edu/~dgoulet/1400 |

I've booted these without a battery: LC LCII LC 630 7100 (mine does the same thing as a 6100 - no startup and video until you hit the reset button.. but it does work) Plus SE Classic II Quadra 700
