Has anyone who uses OS9 and up checked this Pitbull Pro out? I came across it when searching out new trackers. The list of servers that comes up is amazing. You can add your own at this site too. http://www.tracker-tracker.com/

Pitbull Pro is a Hotline client clone. Apparently some (many?) server admins will automatically kick folks using that client, because it has an autorecover feature for downloads, which can make it obnoxious for admins in certain circumstances.

But I use it (b/c I'm in OS X and AFAIK it's the only carbonized Hotline client), and I think it's great, much more stable and nicer to use that the "real" Hotline client. (I've also used the OS 9 version).

Yep, more than half of the servers I've encounted auto-ban anyone using Pitbull. I might give it a try sometime, though, just to see if there's any servers left that don't.

I use Pitbull Pro in OS X also, and I haven't been banned from anything, AFAIK. All of the 68k servers, including the MLA servers, work fine with it.

Frogblast is not Carbonised, but a Cocoa Hotline client, and just got support for threaded news. It's what I use.

Referring to Tracker-Tracker, it is the best searching utility I have found, if it was not for tracker-tracker, I would find hotline useless. Another cool thing about it is that it lets you create server bookmarks without registering hotline. it is one of the 2-3 icons beside the name that lets you do it. it will create an icon on your desktop that you double-click to access the server.

anyway, that is the end of my outpouring

I frogblast most of the time, although pitbull has MUCH better admin functions than frogblast's. So i basically hop between the 2 in osx.
