I have a new on box copy of WRQ Reflection 2+ for macintosh, obviously, 68k macintosh, I would like to know if anyone knows more aobut this software package, has it, or knows what other things I could do with it once I opened the obviously valuable looking box, or IF I opened it.

Also, how do I set up a VT recognizing Unix host, will Mac OS X do this, or A/UX, Rhapsody or OpenStep??

it IS aparently a VT emulator, but might it be advantageous over the one in Claris or AppleWorks? should I find a collector to sell it to? would it even be worth my time to try to sell it?

WRQ Reflections is a 3270 terminal emulator and a very good one. I wasn't even aware that they had made one for a 68k MAC. It probably does a great job for what it is. It probably isn't very useful on anything else but basic UNIX or AS/400 connectivity at this late date. If you need something to run on OSX try the WRQ website and see what is current.

BTW the term emulator in ClarisWorks is actually pretty good. I used it for basic dial-up communications (on a PC way back when) during my Navy days.

AFAIK, the only OS X machine that can be run from a serial console is the Xserve; you need an SSH client (or Telnet, if you have it enabled) to get into your machine remotely.

I'm not sure how to get a terminal set up in OpenStep, or if it's even possible.

OOPSyy!!! I opened the box, installed it on the performa 600 and said "wow, this is nice software" but at that time, i didnt' have any unix boxes, and at that, none that would have been able to connect to the perf...

I'm thinking that i'd like to set up siSTATION (my IIsi running A/UX) or the Quadra 840av which i want to run BSD on as a uniz box that can have terminals... what a nice use for a old SE
