Change your screensaver to Flurry and type this in the terminal: /System/Library/Frameworks/ScreenSaver.framework/Resources/ScreenSaverEngine.app/Contents/MacOS/ScreenSaverEngine -background & iWish there was a way to do this at every login! -Danny Canadian Sniper Squadron 3 stars. --------------------------- Servers: afp://* ftp://* hotline://* "The Site" *68kdisk.no-ip.com |

Really, really cool, but sloooooooooooooow on my TiBook... Maybe Quartz Extreme would help... Plus, I had to logout/login to get it to stop. Anyway, still pretty damn cool! Oh, and it works with any screensaver, not just Flury... SpaceBoyAppleBASIC FOREVER! First off, that is an awesome trick. Too bad that it sucks down video card performance extensively.Secondly, for 10.2 and all you 10.1.x users, get the newest version from the creator's website. It gives you the ability to have as many flurries as you want on screen, not just one. It even supports more than one monitor. ------------------ Captain Z - Mobile Operations Commander 68K Macintosh Liberation Army 23 68K Macs Liberated Visit Captain Z's Starbase of EV Stuff |

Can you not look up what task it is by punchin in "ps -xa" at the Terminal and then "kill <proc. ID>" where 'proc. ID' is the number on the far left of the process in the list? -- Mark Benson FlatPackMacs http://fpm.gotdns.com 2nd Lieutenant - 68kMLA, LC Quartermaster Flat Packing Macs for 68k MLA airlift excercises Macs Liberated = 14! |

Well, I'm sure I could do that, but my knowledge of the Terminal is pretty much limited to "wow, a command prompt in the MacOS! Wheee! Okay, back to Aqua...", so that procedure didn't really occur to me. I'll try it next time I've created a monster and don't know how to put it back in it's cage! Thanks, SpaceBoyAppleBASIC FOREVER! Depending on wether the system starts the task or you did you may also have to tack 'sudo ' onto the begining of the 'kill' command. It will ask for your admin password so all you have to do is punch it in once. Should kill anything. Things not to kill are anything mentioning 'kernel', 'SystemUIServer' or other system related stuff. That can really kill of your OS X Sessions in style!! -- Mark Benson FlatPackMacs http://fpm.gotdns.com 2nd Lieutenant - 68kMLA, LC Quartermaster Flat Packing Macs for 68k MLA airlift excercises Macs Liberated = 14! |
