Is the VideoSpigot (IIsi model) a standard QuickTime video input device? I ask because the input does not appear in webcam apps which supposedly should work with any QT input source.

I think so. However, you need no later that Quicktime v1.5 for it to work.

Do you mean past version 1.5, or only version 1.5? The problem is that the only 68k webcam app I've found that runs under 7.0 needs QT2.0 at least...

It doesn't work with Quicktime 2.0 or higher, AFAIK. There might be newer drivers for it, but the ones I have won't work with QT 2.0.

if you need to hack 2.0 to work with the drivers for your card, and that WebCam app, i think i spotted "Quicktime 2.0 development tools" as a title on one of the CD's in the box of ADC goodies that appeared mysteriously (abandoned?) on my doorstep recently.

dunno if it'll do any good, but i could dig thru and see if anything else might be of use when i get a chance. lemme know if you can't find what you need.

there was some old music stuff too, but markymark prolly googled it all on the web already!

Your reputation precedes you but let me add that you need a good macro program to automate it.

whatever . . . there's a parallel thread on fritter that a couple of interesting links popped up on:

http://www.applefritter.com/cgi-bin/YaBB/YaBB.pl?board=68k;action=display;num=1029651290

i don't remember QuickTime 1.6.2, maybe that one will work or were there even later rev's between 1.5 and 2.0? *he asks: tired and finally becoming bored with googling for EVERYTHING!*

p.s. back with one further thought: might old AOL installer disks or those that came with other applications, peripherals or BBS/WWW installers be a source for Quicktime variants with useful patches?

balance of interminable post script moved to new topic!

Coxy! I have QuickTime 1.6.2 on my Quadra 840av, as it's the newest version that works with my SuperMac SpigotPower AV card. I'll take a guess that it's the newest version your VideoSpigot card will work with, too. I have it on my HL server, but it's not up right now, so I'll have to get it to you later tonight.

Thanks. If you could email it to me, that'd be good, since everything bar HTTP and FTP is blocked off here at uni.
