what is the fastest way of transferring files between an imac (10/100 baseT, usb, firewire but no way of expanding) and a quarda 840av (aui, serial scsi and nubus cards) is there any other ways aside from aui transciever or a nubus ethernet card (which of those 2 is faster?) i want to connect a vcr to the 840 and use timbuctoo from an imac to record tv onto the imac hdim irish, it is my duty to ask stupid questions. you could use sneaker net but for video no you would need to use ethernet no other option the easyest way would be a AAUI to RJ45 Adapter would be your cheapest and easiest option.-Danny Canadian Sniper Squadron 2 stars. --------------------------- Servers: afp://* ftp://* hotline://* "The Site" *68kdisk.no-ip.com Edited by - catsdorule on 20 Aug 2002 16:38:23 |

I'd agree. An AAUI adaptor is probably the best bet, since it doesn't take up one of your puny 3 (!) NuBus slots. Go, 950s!~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0

~coxy is assuming you know about NuBus 10/100 NICs, which would probably be the fastest method available. but thay are pricey and rarely available on eBay.

Yep, ethernet is the best route. Just get an AAUI to RJ-45 adapter and run a crossover ethernet cable between the two. Dats it!666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 I Have No Legs! |
