I have a friend who has an old PB 1400 and wants my help in doing some upgrading to it. I'm willing to help him with this, but he also needs to get hold of the parts. I told him I'd put some feelers out for him on here first.He wants to get:
- a G3 processor upgrade
- a RAM upgrade to 48 MB
- a new HD - 12 GB or bigger, if possible
How much would each of these set him back? For that matter, do any of you have any of this stuff to sell? 
To make matters better, he's giving me a PowerBook 540c in exchange for my labours. Unfortunately, it's having the "battery amnesia" problems common to the 500-series. Furthermore, the power adapter died some time ago, so I'll need a new one. Anyone have one lying around?
