Learn HTML, code the whole thing yourself in OmniWeb for OpenStep, and upload it to your server with command-line FTP.

That's how I made mine.

The easyest way is to use Dreamweaver MX .

Do you have a server lined up? or are you using a hosting service, etc.? I have my own server and I can say it can be worth it, but only if you have the means to do it, don't bend over backwards for it, and judging by how you are asking here, adding hosting to creating a site is not fun, but perhaps down the line this could be a possibility.

In terms of Prgram Vs. HTML, its all preference.
http://torpedobird.com is entirely coded by hand in raw HTML (my site btw) and it still does some interesting things. But if you want more advanced things, or easier orginazation, use a creation program.

I think that all my cents for now...

There is only one path and that is the path that you take, but you can take more than one path.

setting up your own server is quite easy and worth it if you have a dedicated internet connection and a spare mac, if not you get into ugly hosting services that either charge money or you have ugly addresses...

i have had good luck with freeway

just my 2 cents
