Not sure if this is the right place to ask this....but I was curious as to:

What is the Ram limit in:

System 6?

System 7?

System 8.1?

I'm not asking a machine specific question, I'm wondering what the OS itself limits are...

well... depending on the machene, system 6 will only run 8MB (because of the crummy 32bit addressing in the '020s and some '030s) but as for sys7 and OS8, I think you can run it on as much as you damn well please (up to the machene's limit of course)

Wasn't there a extension in system 6 that would allow you 32 bit addressing?

its called "MODE32" just google that...

heh... I forgot about that... I just havn't needed it on all my sys6 machenes (an SE, 2 portables and a mac II)
