Anyone remember Avara?

hehe I remeber that game. Does anyone still play it? I was always a bigginer, I never got to play much in the networked rooms. I always got yelled at for not knowing how to play well or for having a slow internet connection. One day I just found it not fun anymore.

It would be fun to start a 68kmla avara tournament or better yet, somehow a Bolo tournament over the net'.

I never much liked that game. It was slow on my 6100, and the controls were confusing. I never tried it networked, though.

I still have the game. With macos 8.1 on my LC475 the graphics was terrible but when I stared up my mac with sturtup disk software(1.3MB) then the graphics was OK.

I used to play Avara on my Performa 630 quite a lot. It ran perfectly, maxed out if I remember. It never really took off in my opinion though. Also at the time I couldn't really figure out how to make my own maps, which I really wanted to do (I can't bring myself to knock together a PC just to make UT maps...), even though it was meant to be dead easy and you could do it in Claris works. Now that I can get my head around it it doesn't seem worth while anymore.

I tried to play it a couple times. I didn't like it much. How's THAT for reminiscing?
