There have been a couple times when I wanted to check the name of a moderator while I was in a forum. To do this now you have to go back to the main page, then go back into the forum (you could open the main page in a new window but we won't mention that).

I was just thinking it would be convenient to have the moderator's names on the pages in the forums... "This page is moderated by:..."

Any thoughts?

Yes, unfortunately the forums are generated server-side using a database of topics, and I don't know all that much ASP. So, there's little that can be done, sorry.

I wasn't sure how the pages were generated, so I didn't know if it could be done. Not a necessary feature, just something I thought about after the third or fourth time I checked a mod's name.

That would be cool to have, though by now I have memorized the moderators of all the forums

Hmmm... I think I know a quick'n'ugly hack for getting mod names to appear. What about renaming all the forums to append the name of the moderator in parentheses or curly braces? For example, this forum could be renamed to "The Website Forum {Marchie, FireWire is fast}". OK, it would look kinda ugly, but that way the mod names would appear everywhere the current forum title appears (e.g., in All Forums, Active Topics, even at the top of every thread).

Anywho, just an idea, not necessarily a good idea.

I don't really think that it's so urgent to require a hack like that... after all, just how important is it to know the name of the mod of the forum? We all generally answer questions, and I'm around far too many hours of the day, and I usually catch what little number of offensive posts we get.

No doubt you are correct. I, personally, do not pay much attention to who's modding what cuz the mods do such a good job that I can just take them for granted (Sorry, you guys).

I guess my hack was just the engineer side of me acting up again -- trying to solve problems that do not really need solving. Either that, or I am spending too much time here too!

Cheers,
