Games machine! You can run all the games that won't work on PCI PowerMacs: Vette!, Civilisation, Kings Bounty...

Most, anyway. Games that require a PPC601, obviously will not work. However, you can run the following games on it:

Bolo
SimCity 2000
Shufflepuck (and Shufflepuck Cafe)
Myst
Hellcats
F/A-18 Hornet
Diamonds
Glider
PhraseCrazePlus
Apeiron
Barrack
Pegleg
Duke Nukem 3D
And many more!

As for productivity suites, i'd say get AppleWorks 5. It has low system requirements, and is very nice. For Internet access, Claris Emailer is a nice email program, and iCab is a fast browser, with very low system requirements.

Depending on how much RAM you have, i'd say you should run Mac OS 8.1 if you have at least 20 megs, 7.6.1 if you have 12 megs or 7.1 if you have anything less. Most, if not all of the programs mentioned here will run fine on System 7.1. Whatever you do though, enjoy it. The 575s look good (i believe they even have something approaching sex appeal, but then again i have no life), and pack plenty of power.

it's funny, because I thought that my perf. 578 was particularly ugly, I wouldn't mind the Mac TV, or the 57x mobo in the Mac TV case, but it's just not what I like in beige
