I've got a 12x Sony branded LaCie SCSI CD-ROM drive and was hoping to get it to work with my LC II, what sort of drivers or software do i need? The machine is running system 7.0.1 right now.

Thanks

It should work with one of the drivers from this page:
(Scroll right to the bottom)

My 1xSpeed External Cumana (Sony) caddy drive worked fine with the Apple driver without the need for modification.

If you are having problems, use SCSIprobe to make sure that your Mac is seeing the drive:

Also, be sure that the SCSI id on the CDROM is set higher than your boot device. Also, I know my drive needs to be terminated, but I'm not sure if that is the case with all drives. I had a SCSI 20mb external hard drive attached to my Mac Plus that didn't need one.

Cheers

You need at least System 7.1 to use the Apple CD-ROM drivers. Then when have it installed, you can just copy the CD extensions from a 7.5.x Mac, if you have one around...

I not familiar with the that particular LAcie box, but i've gotten external cdroms and the configuration on the box might be correct, but i've run into situations where the cables aren't connected to the drives themselves from the box inside which cancels out the settings. So my point is, be certain that the drive settings are correct.
