you don't want to get ISDN although it is 68k Mac compatible. There are a number of nubus ISDN cards going around onebay for under 50 ukp.Cable is what you want. Most of my friends back home are with telewest but I'm not sure who's available in your area (wherever that is!) The advantage of this is you don't tie up your phone line, most cable packages offer discount calls, you've got the option of all the extra TV channels. All you need is an ethernet connection on your machine. You'll need an ethernet transciver for your machine to convert the AAUI port to a regular RJ-45 one, these go for about 10-15 ukp on eBay or you could get one from the states as they are pretty light and often go for less. In fact a shop here in Melbourne was selling them for about 2 UKP, dunno if they have any lef t though. The main expense is installation which *I think* could be 100-150 ukp can't remember though. After that you'll be looking at around 40 UKP a month but it really depends what package you go with eg. if you want cable TV as well. Hope thats helpful

For browsing, on the 40Mhz Q630 I have here, on many sites going above 56k speeds doesn't make much difference - the machine spends so much time page rendering that it's pausing doing that, while it could be bringing other stuff in, and doesn't use the full speed of my adsl. On simpler pages however, you could definitely notice a difference :). When it comes to the speed of downloading files... via ftp or http say, either way a 68k will keep up with just about anything broadbandwise :) When I download files from one Quadra 605 to another across my network, I get aruond 140-150kb/sec - that's 1.5megabit type speeds... dana
