Hi, I have a Quadra 650 and it just suddenly switched off. I have checked the cord and it's secure and working but the machine will not turn on. I was networking the machine to another computer before it broke, nothing out of the ordinary. Before it went out, I noticed that the fan sounded like it was slowing. Is there a reset button?, Is it the power supply? Could be, but double check the power button under where the power cable plugs in just in case it got hit while you where behind there. Besides that, the power supply is the most likely. I have a Centris 650 which had that button stuck once.Current Mac's: Mac Plus, SE30, Classic, LCII, (2) LC550, Centris 650, 7100/80, Performa 6214, PB2300c Duo w/dock, G3/400 "Shine On" [;-)]

I found that if my monitor's cord is moved a cirtain way the computer will just turn off, jiggle the minitors cords a bit and see.-Danny Canadian Sniper Squadron 2 stars. Tones of mac junk in the corner of my closet. ----- All servers currently off 'till I get a dedicated server. |

The power supply on my 6100 went dead one time. I replaced it with a new one only to learn later that fixing it would have been a simple matter of clearing out all the dust and replacing a fuse.mathgeek 68K Macs Liberated: LC, Performa 636, Mac Classic II My Powerbook 1400 page http://www.its.caltech.edu/~dgoulet/1400 |
