I want to make my Mac ||ci a router and I know Cine has before so I need instructions if someone can, is there anyway to make it a wireless one too? And someone told me I can expand the router by adding a hub.Jeremy "I'll see you on the Dark Side Of The Moon" - Pink Floyd Covert Ops 68k Hacks General Macs Liberated:19 ENTER THROUGH THE GATES |

That's a Mac IIci, you mean.I believe the process consists mainly of getting a few ethernet cards and installing IPNetRouter. Marchie (I think) made a good post about it before, try a search. ~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0

Or, if you prefer a Unix-based approach, there is a NetBSD-based solution at: http://users.erols.com/ewinkler/firewall/fwinstall.html " target="_blank"> http://users.erols.com/ewinkler/firewall/fwinstall.html <<<John>>>

I'm currently setting up a router on my 950 for the second time. I'm working with Ipnetrouter and it's a major pain to setup. Vicom Internet gateway was a piece of cake. Unfortunately I've lost my copy of Internet Gateway so i'm struggling with ipnetrouter. Ipnetrouter is a good program, just not easy to setup. It also doesn't help that my ethernet cards don't work. For a IIci and a hub it's recommended that you route appletalk over one ethernet interface and tcp/ip over another. (meaning you need 2 ethernet cards on your IIci, on my 950 i just need one and an adapter for the onboard.) It's not REQUIRED, but something you should aim for. If you don't have a hub, you can still route as many machines as you have ethernet ports. www.threemacs.com give a good description of what's up with networking. _______________________ Sgt.
