Last night I dreamed that i found this thrift store that had a ton of compact macs, all laying on their sides in some kind of shelf that was laying on the floor. Next to this, there was a table with boxes and boxes of parts, most notably a bunch of SCSI and IDE Zip drives. The best thing on the table, though, was a beige G3 desktop case and motherboard, no drives/RAM/etc for $10. I was happy, but then i woke up...

I thought that was real after reading and I was like I want a few IDE Zip Drives!

"You've got to have a dream,
If you don't have a dream,
How you gonna have a dream come true?"

I is elated,
In me sadness,
Of this 68k madness.

I need another mac(not yet but in time, probably six months when I have sold enough junk to justify it).

I'm not sure what to go for.

My first choice was a pizza box, but having seen the specs none of these seem powerfull enough.

The Duo is cool but too expensive.

Any 68k other than an 840 av or perhaps a 950 would not have the power I need.

I have to consider going for a fancy mac.

If I go for a non 68k mac then can I still network easily with my Quadra?(different o.s's is my main worry.

What is the most powerfull system that can run os 8.1?

What mac would work out good value?

I like the ibook but it is expensive, I also am almost liking the imac. But I do like a tower & Expandability is a key deciding factor.

I had that exact dream last night... did you see any long haired 14 year old males in your dream? I walked into the thrift store, and went straight for the compact macs... one of them was a color classic with a PPC mobo in it, and a flatscreen, and had a superdrive, and was 34$ canadian. so I ripped out my monopoly set, and gave hin 3000$ in monopoly money, and he accepted this. at this point, I saw someone... the person had a black mask on, but appeared to be eyeing the beige G3... as soon as I walked out of the store, all the voices in my head came down on me, and took the PPCCC from me and injected some sort of virus that changed me into a half snake creture (which, mind ou, was pritty fun) and then I awoke.... I allways wake up as soon as my dreams get fun... yah know what I should do? I should set my mac II to work at making a drug that make it so human males could stay in REM sleep for he entire period that you are asleep (instead of 10snds to 1Hr) which would be good, because your dreams would be in perfict clarity, and you would be able to control what happens, or even warp time and space itself to create a bunch of 68K comps beside your bed... I am bored, my head hurts. these are the things that run thru my head when I am bored and/or have a hedache.

sleep = good
REM sleep = dreams
dreams = fun
really weird dreams = very fun
unlimited control of space, time and matter = very good thing
powerbook duo 2300C = better than the above, until they make a really small TIbook.

THnx

That's why I don't like dreams one bit. Either it's a bad dream and you wake up all unsettled and disturbed, or it's a good one and when you wake up you're unsettled and disturbed because it isn't real! Grr.Go to Top of Page

My mindlessly small amount of stupid monetary sense:
Life as we know it is unsettled and disturbed, it isnt until we dream that it finally isnt. Good dream or bad, its always better than real life.

Most of my dreams remind me of the porky's movies

..... except horribly twisted in a "drug-induced/jimmy buffett song"-like way. I can't explain it.

Most of my dreams are either Apple/Mac related, or have something to do with sex...

I had an Apple dream about a week ago where I was at a flea market, and some guy was selling all of these bizzare Apple prototypes. There was a Mac II with a CRT in the front of it like old lunchbox portables had. He also had keyboards with apple logo shaped trackpads built into them and printers that had flat panel iMac style screens attached.

Why don't I ever get any dreams???
I go to sleep. I wake up somewhat tired or not rested. Sometimes grumpy. NO DREAMS.
Maybe I need more sleep.

iThink your dreams need to be interupted for you to remember them.

My dreams are getting to literal, last night I drempt that I woke up and my mum Came into the room and said "Wake up Daniel it's 9:00" Then I went back to sleep and woke up and it was 5:00... man...

Everybody dreams.

You just may not remember dreams.

If you didn't dream you would be a nervous wreck & have a mental breakdown.

I think you're not supposed to remember them that is just somthing that occurs accidentally.

& hey do you ever dream in black & white?

well colour is the first part of the memory to fade.

lol
cos with the advent of telly loadsa ppl thought you could dream in black & white, lol like would they charge a liscence fee?
