Several months ago I annonced the liberation of 4 quadra 950's from a warehouse they'd been sitting in since NASA auctioned them off. I parts swapped them around for a bit, and got all the good bits in, then the final runner (the parts will suffice to keep it running for 20 more years) sat for a couple months, waiting on a CD that would work.

6 hours spent trying to get the sony scsi cdrom working were to no avail, so I got a *Genuine Apple CD-ROM*

So anyways, one Sunday burned away, and quax is alive and speeking to the network. He's a Quadra 950 with 130 megs of RAM, 2 hard discs, and a nubus ethernet card (cause they're cheaper than AAUI trancievers.)

Now he runs A/UX 3.0.1, and should b serving something or another to the web in a couple weeks.

As a side note, does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get stuffit on him without already having stuffit?

Apple. UNIX. A/UX rocked.

I THINK that if you download the .HQX file on him (quax) that will put stuffit onto him

Well, then there wouldn't be any way to decompress the HQX, would there? ;)

Your best best is to find a .sea, .smi or look on old magazine floppies/CDs.
