At this moment I have my Quadra networked to my Performa. My son is playing Yhatzi & I am typing in this forum. Does anyone have a Performa or a Performa class machine that they have connected to the internet as I want to set the Performa for light internet duties as well as having it for playing Lemmings, Oh no more Lemmings & Ultra Yhatzi. So would someone be able to send me all I need to make the Performa internet ready?(cept not hardware I just mean software) I messed the Performa up a bit cos I copied my Quadra's os 8.1 sys files over I used the printer port for networking & used serial speed to hopefully up the speed but would this help? shaktiman Quadra 840av 128MB ram 2MB vram cd drive(caddy),1 caddy!:-)1.44 floppy drive, inject :-(1.2 gig drive 2 monitors 15" & 14" os 8.1 56k modem Stylewriter 1200 Zodiac speakers Umax 1220s scanner 3 year old son! |

I'm not sure if serial speed affects LocalTalk networking speeds at all...Ethernet is your best choice, but the Performa was a compact unit, wasn't it? I can't remember which model you stated. ~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0

Yes they did make one, look on e-bay but they use RJ-45 Cables so you will need an adapter for the Quadra. ----- Hotline: (when it is up) catsdorule.no-ip.org TCP/IP server : 142.161.106.250 L: 68kmla p:68000 Http Server URL: Http://catsdorule.no-ip.com (Web access to manuals) FTP Server: ftp://142.161.106.250/Library/WebServer/documents l/p 68kmla/68000 |

Hello boy , For a simple internet connection , follow this scheme : + Contact a provider to an internet access. + Install mactcp from your system package. + Install freePPP ( the monkey I prefer it than open transport ) + Install a browser on your HD.( Internet explorer or another ) + set up macTCP.( Get host's adress and your personal IP adress ) and you are cyberguy. macaka ( ta mata etc... ) It's the war....
