I went to CCC(Cheshunt Computer Club) last week.

I got to see a couple of Falcon 030's one was running Magic. It just seemed like a soupoed up st.

a couple of pc's were there too.

The long & short of all this is that My Quadra would have buried all of them. (even the pc's as I dont have to bother with Windows(oh blessed relief))

I am now fully 68k mac orientated.

What I really miss is Gemulator(st emulator on the pc) Gemulator truly was "better than an st" I continued to use Gemulator practically(it runs at a third the speed of the pc it runs on).

My Quadra has the solution I wanted & wins on, character, workability, practicalness & as I get used to it configurability.

I pay respect to the STE with Tos 2.06 & to TT's with Tos 3.06 & to Gemulator Tos 2.06.

I need an emulator for my mac to run ST software.

Having said all that I ran Magic(multitasking os, similar to mac os) on my stfm. my stfm is

STfm
68000 cpu @ 8mhz
2 1/2 meg memory
720k floppy drive
using a tv as monitor.

& I multitasked.

2 monitors 15" & 14" os 8.1 56k modem Stylewriter 1200 Zodiac speakers Umax 1220s scanner

That ST sounds just like my SE except the SE dosen't use a TV as a monitor and the disk drives are dual 800k rather than 720k

Yes I think they are a similar level but at least you got dual 800k floppies & monitor.

If I had a machine with Tos 3.06(3.06 is tt's Tos & supports a higher res), dual floppies & decent monitor then I would have fun & it would compete with the Performa 400 I have.
