...of the Quadra/Centris section that is. Although ~Coxy hasn't made it official, I taking reigns prematurely to regulate against those annoying PPC trolls . In the style of cinemafia let me introduce you to my Quadra

current specs:
32 mb ram
1.1 gb Quantum Fireball (internal scsi)
1.2 gb Quantum Fireball (external scsi)
AppleCD 600e (4x external cd-rom)
Macintosh Color Dispay (13" trinitron monitor)
AppleWorks 5, Word 6, PageMaker 6, (*ahem* i wouldn't mind if somebody would hook me up with an older version of Photoshop) Norton Utilites (can't remember version...perhaps 2.5?)
a slew of random 68k games (which is what i primarily use it for)

eventually i would like to get (ordered by importance)
that darn cable for my portrait display so i can actually use it
max ram
larger monitor/higher res (in addition to portrait)
4 gb hd
24x cd (i know its overkill...but that would complete my perfect 68k)

I'm almost always checking these forums whether I'm at school or at home. While at home you can IM me at "toastedFireWire" or email me at "r68040k@mac.com". Contact me if you have any questions about Quadras or Centrises (or would it be Centrii?) or about information regarding the 68k mla in general.

have fun!

that darn cable for a portrait display? I think I got one of those...

**digs around a bit**

aha! here 'tis. Normal Mac 15 pin at one end, and at the other the plug is physically the same size as a 25 pin 'D' connector, except one of the pins is bigger than the rest. Part #590-0621-A

If that's a portrait cable then I've got one!

email me at vdu99@hotmail.com :)

from Knowledge Base:

A local Apple-authorized service provider can order one of these cables for you. Either cable will work. Note that one cable is 25-pin to 25-pin, while the other is 25-pin to 15-pin.

Video Cable (DB-25 to DB-15) part number 590-0615
Video Cable (DB-25 to DB-25) part number 590-0574

by your description, you have the 25-15 pin one...but yet the part numbers don't match up...

It's not the large cable with the 3 wierd coax pins in the monitor side is it?

I'll have to check but the monitor side is all funky...it has the video signal than is has wierd coax (perhaps 3? i don't know exactly how many) the for the ADB and the side that goes to the computer is normal...i'll have to check back tomorrow (it's in storage since it's useless withouth the cable)

if you want to know bout the pinouts they're on the knowledge base...

I've got one for the greyscale A4 monitor that came with my IIsi. It only has 1 coax thing, but space for three.

The cable ~Coxy described is the one I have. One coax connector and ten 'normal' pins.

It just occurred to me... Would you really be a soveriegn ruler, if you have ~Coxy the Admin over you? I would think you would be more of a viceroy...
