Although this might not be the place to post it, I think that would be a great fourm, To aid people on this subject.----- Hotline: (when it is up) catsdorule.no-ip.org TCP/IP server : 142.161.111.206 L: 68kmla p:68000 Http Server URL: Http://catsdorule.no-ip.com (Web access to manuals) FTP Server: ftp://142.161.111.206/Library/WebServer/documents l/p 68kmla/68000 |

Well, I think we've handled these queries fairly well in either Balloon Help or 68k Software. A specific forum for it would be fine, but I don't think it's really neccessary, since all the questions fall under one or both of these existing forums. When Coxy shows up he can give a final word, though.666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 I Have No Legs! |

From my experience this would be an invaluable forum.I have used st,amiga,c64,pc & now macs. All of these have 1 thing in common, that they be electronic computers able to utilise the internet. As I am sure we would all apprieciate any one of these set-ups would look, feel & behave very differently to the others. We can use 68kmacs to communicate with all of these machines & you might not realise what computer created a web page your looking at. It has been my experience on all the platforms I have used that internet is regardless of your computer type & is therefore a seperate phonomenem. The internet by it's very being cannot be discussed & utilised via one type of computer. I hope this makes sense. shaktiman Quadra 840av 128MB ram 2MB vram cd drive(caddy),1 caddy!:-)1.44 floppy drive, inject :-(1.2 gig drive 2 monitors 15" & 14" os 8.1 56k modem Stylewriter 1200 Zodiac speakers Umax 1220s scanner 3 year old son! |

i think you're right in many ways, but for this particular group it doesn't quite fit. besides the two generic topics cine' mentioned, we also have specific forums for discussing the problems specific to each particular product line and related system complications already in place. add to that the fact that anyone here must already have some kind of internet access and i'm not entirely convinced that another forum would better serve the subject matter as it would in most places.it's a very good idea in general, but it might not be best for the MLA, dunno! jt ™. I concur with Trash & I guess I kind of said the same thing. The internet is a very different topic to 68kmacs. We utilise the web but we certainly dont own it. But if anyone knows of a good internet forum I would be interested. & for all thoses bored/pompus/rightious posters out there, please not my use of the term "good forum". shaktiman Quadra 840av 128MB ram 2MB vram cd drive(caddy),1 caddy!:-)1.44 floppy drive, inject :-(1.2 gig drive 2 monitors 15" & 14" os 8.1 56k modem Stylewriter 1200 Zodiac speakers Umax 1220s scanner 3 year old son! |

I too think that the idea is sound, but already covered by existing forums - Balloon Help for general stuff, 68k Perephirals for modems and other hardware, 68k Software if you have a setup/control panel query, and so on.I don't really like to see dozens of little forums with nary a new question between them. ~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0

Hey ~coxy, is there any way to post a topic in multiple forums, and have the replies from each forum stay the same? This would be extremely taxing on the software, if it could even do it, but it would be kool, and extremely useful. Some people dont always make it to all the forums, and some topics require multiple expertiece. Just seeing if this was possible. Then again, i may just be a freakin penguin geek with crazy ideas.~The Penguin | Captain, Intelligence Operations / Space Cowboy | There is only one path and that is the path that you take, but you can take more than one path. 68k.torpedobird.com <-- Hotline Server
