I think the C: drive on my PC is dying. I spent a good 2 hours backing up essential data onto the D drive. Right now, it being noon in Vegas, it's too hot in my office to run the PC. (I think over heating may have caused some of the severe wierdness I noticed yesterday.)Everybody asked me why I got an iBook for my laptop. I'm preaching to the choir, but I'll say it anyhow: "PC to tinker on. Apple for those 'oh shit!' moments when I need to get up and running right now." 68K's liberated: 0 68Ks adopted to loving homes: 2 PowerMacs adopted: 1 |

Well, it does say talk about *any*thing in the Lounge. And, I would be singing the virtues of a PB 540 and 540c except I gave those noble 68k books away to otherwise computerless friends a few years ago. I done paid my 68k dues. The 540 went to a friend whose husband tied up the iMac with his freelance graphics work. (It's now her daughter's computer.) The 540c went to a friend who was starting on her dissertation. 68K's liberated: 0 68Ks adopted to loving homes: 2 PowerMacs adopted: 1 |
