At the Macworld expo it sounded like ....bummer but on the one on apple's website sounds like fubar!

thanks! this was driving me nuts! i downloaded it and listened to it on headphones after comebody "corrected" me on ars, i've never heard anybody accent the second syllable like that, but i think theres really no doubt about the text!

this should be hotter than "i...can't believe...i ate the whole..thing!"

of they grew the stones to try it, i wonder if apple could get away with airing the "FUBAR" spot on broadcast TV? it'd be sure to get a Clio nomination!

ARRGGHHH!!!!! i just cleared my cache and listened to it on apple's site and i still get FUBAR!

WTF is going on? it sounds the same on two different computers in Quicktme Player and GraphicConverter! i tried it on the G4 under 9.1, 9.2 and 10.1 in both apps and get the same results every time! there's no glitch in the beat of the soundtrack, so i don't think its a system problem.

Y'could be onto something - I'm nowhere NEAR a hearing loss expert, but the top frequencies are supposedly the first to disappear, so I took the mp3 you made into iTunes, used the equalizer to cut out the top 2/3 of the frequencies and it resembles fubar.

Still only resembles as in kinda halfway between fubar and abummer - if I really push m'self - sorta maybe Fshboo-mma :D. It's almost like there's a low frequency 'hiss' lying under the "a" of "a bummer" that could be an F. I dunno. I'm overanalysing :D

it looks like the problem might not be hearing loss, so it can stay for now, but if somebody elses health came into question in a thread, i'd feel uncomfortable about leaving it if they requested it to be deleted.

play with balance left to right, the two channels are markedly different! this is getting as silly as beatles records playing backwards!
