from the Evangelist mailing list:

We have a collection of older Macs that we will give to anyone willing to
take them. Take one, two or as many as you can carry. These are 030
machines - IIcx and IIsi mostly. We have Ethernet cards and a large
collection of 30 pins simms to go with them. We even have some extra
harddrives: 40 MB - 250 MB (yeah, that was MB - not GB). These make nice
print servers, fax servers and routers. Take one or several. You must
pick them up in person. We are in the LA area. Contact me at the email
below for more info.

No, schools don't want them and we have already spent a year putting
together the best of the lot for shipment to missionary schools in
Central America. We're out of room and money to ship any more and just
need to clear out the office.

The freebies are being giving out on Saturday at Smoking Gun Software, 234 E. Foothill Blvd. in Arcadia, across from Shakey's Pizza. It's pretty close to you, Mathgeek, so if I can't make it you may be able to catch the Metro.

They have a user group that meets there from 9am until noon, but they'll be there until they get rid of everything.

On the map it's about 7 miles from me. I could take a bus there, but carrying stuff back would be tough. I've got a big camping backpack that I could fit 2 or 3 68k's into. But if there's more I'd have to leave some behind.
If you're going by car, it looks like you'll pass me on the way. So if you can make it, I'll go with you.
I'd tryto get a ride, but I doubt that I could get one of my lazy unemployed friends out of bed before noon on Saturday.

GAR!
Curse it that I cannot drive, I would have liked to make it to Arcadia for that, I would have picked up a bunch and started a render farm :)
(I am in San Pedro, BTW)
