I know, I've been away from the board for more than four days now. Well, here's what happened.

On Satruday night my wife and I got some Indian food from a restaurant that we frequent, and late that night, came down with a case of food poisoning. We spent all day Sunday in a dire state of affairs, suffering from persistent nausea, vomiting, diahrrea and muscle weakness. My wife got so dehydrated I had to take her to the hospital! Fortunately, we covered by mid-Monday, but little Cleo suddenly got a fever and spent all day crying. So, I stayed home with her yesterday until she was feeling better. We're all feeling great now, but it was a doozy of a trip.

Glad to be back online, though!

It's a great town. It stinks, but it's a great town.

(see if you can guess what movie that's from )

The local electronic music scene is finally starting to take off here, so we're giving competition to London/the UK for hosting the most electronic/dance music acts lately!

Electronic music in what sense? like Lemmings music?

I think I recognise the name Plastikman.

We have alot of garage here at the mo:-(, well you go in a pub and they have a dj who has about 5 phrases, such as " We are livin it large" & then he just repeats those phrases whilst playing music.

I moved to London only 4 months ago, I was in Cambridge before & the kids were all into hip hop.

Did ya hear what happened when Puff Daddy played Santa?

Well Shakti, there's a lot of English electronic acts that I like, so see if you recognize any of these:

Richard D. James (AKA Aphex Twin AKA Polygon Window)

Advent

Squarepusher

Faithless

Portishead

Aphex twin I have "heard the name"

PORTISHEAD ARE MASSIVE
PORTISHEAD ARE MASSIVE

but are Portis head Welsh as opposed to English?

Apache Indian?

Jean Michele Jarre?

Front 242?

Cornershop?

New Order?

Just wondering if you have heard of these.

When Puff Daddy said "ho ho ho"

3 women in high heels & short skirts ran up.

Well I think the musicians in Portishead are Welsh, but the singer is English. I know they live in different places, anyway. That's actually kind of interesting, because all the music is finished long before the lyrics are ever added, and they mail a DAT to the singer, and she then comes up with all the spoken word on her own, inspired by the sounds.

New Order is also very cool, I love Confusion, and Everything's Gone Green. They're classic...

Front 242 is OK.

I haven't heard of the rest...
