Howdy, folks!
I just thought I'd drop in and stir up some conversations... anyway, what is the total amount of Mac-mHz you have? Get this by adding the mHz of all Mac's you currently own, like this:
My setup:
PowerBook G4/500 (500mHz)
3x PowerMac 7600/132's
PowerBook 1400/133
Mac SE/30
PowerBook 180 (33 mHz)
Quadra 950 (33 mHz)
iMac rev.a (233 mHz)
PowerMac 7100/G3-266

Okay, that's all I can think of, off the top of my head... so my total is 1610 mHz, or 1.61 gHz! That's a whole lotta Mac!
Have fun!
SpaceBoy
PS If you want to be all 'on topic' and stuff, you can stick to 68k's only... but that's no way to clear a gigahertz! Err, unless you've got a LOT more 68k's then me...

AppleBASIC FOREVER!
As of 4/8/02:
TiBook G4/500, "Difference Engine"
PB 1400/133, "KayPro II"
PB 180/33, "Osbourne 1"
PMac 7100/G3-266, "DEC Rainbow" and "Altair 8800"
Quadra 950, "HAL 9000"
iMac Rev.A/333mHz, "Deep Blue"
Newton 120, "PADD"

dang! i need more 68k's! even counting 3 bare PB and Duo mobo's from eBay i only get a 761 MHz total in my spreadsheet of 68k goodness including the intel procs on the DOS cards!

for PPC's i've probably got a total of about what'sadhu's got in just his dual gig box.

1527 total here, as standard... but only 815 is 68k

if I popped the 100Mhz PPC601 into a 25Mhz Quadra that'd add 75Mhz to the total... and the 2x PPC card into a 33Mhz Quadra would give another 33... 108 more giving 1635 total

but then, the PPC card at 100mhz/66Mhz may still technically leave a 68040 ticking over at 25Mhz/33Mhz which would be adding the full 166Mhz of their combined Mhz'ness on top, giving 1693Mhz total.

Of course, there are still machines I've yet to overclock, and if I took the Q605/475s out to their maximum 44Mhz, that would be 93Mhz more (some are already overclocked, some more), and I have a LOAD of LCIII's yet to overclock - another 64Mhz there, so that's 1850Mhz and...

nope, not 2Ghz yet. bugger!

I beat most of you with just one machine...

Dual 800 G4...... 2 x 800 = 1600...hehe

+ PLUS +
Performa 637 - 33 Mhz
PB 170 - 25 Mhz
PM 7200/120 x 2 - 240 Mhhz
PM 7200/90 - 90 Mhz
PM 6500/250 - 250 Mhz
iMac - 233 Mhz

= 2471 Mhz, 2.4 Ghz of mac goodness.
Now im sure someone else is gonna come in here and lay the smackdown on that, but for now i feel happy

Let's do this thread in MIPS (Million Instructions Per Second), not MHz. The amount of power each MHz can do varies with processor and backside cache. For example, a 68040 does much more per MHz than a 68030. MIPS ratings are listed on LEM, and Linux tells you the MIPS for contraband machines when they boot.

Anyways:

68k
SE: 8 MHz (0.8 MIPS) x 2 =16 MHz (1.6 MIPS)
IIsi: 20 MHz (5.0 MIPS)
Quadra 700: 25 MHz (22.0 MIPS)

PowerPC
PowerMac 6100: 60 MHz (40 MIPS)
PowerBook 5300: 100 MHz (45 MIPS)
PowerMac 5400: 200 MHz (129 MIPS)
Performa 6400: 180 MHz (120 MIPS)
Indigo iMac: 500 MHz (400 MIPS)

x86 (OpenStep/Linux)
Compaq Presario: 166 MHz (110 MIPS)
Generic PC: 233 MHz (130 MIPS)
Compaq Presario: 350 MHz (200 MIPS)

Total:

1850 MHz
1202.6 MIPS (Over a gigaflop! It's a supercomputer!)

mhz, macs = 634 (420 of that is my overclocked 375 g3)
mhz, macs w/ newtons = 841

if i add the pcs that are in the house, but they are not mine = 2399

I'll get around to do the mips later.

erm a Quadra 840av @ 40mhz & Performa with a 68030 but not sure how fast it is, prolly 25mhz so a total of 65mhz.

anyhow I have 2 st's (68k's at least) so that's another 16 mhz(8 each) so that could raise me total to 65 + 16

81 mhz

I have a pc(I am gonna sell it and yuou lot may wanna be ready as it has scsi cd & hard drive) .never was sure of the mhz on it I think it was 125 or somthing like that which would give us a grand total of,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,206 mhz.

Sod that just count the Quadra it's the only one of any use to me.

1 MIPS does not 1 megaflop make.

Has anyone taken a look at the Tally page on the website recently? 3500 MIPS!

OK, here goes nothing...

Contrabanned
2 x B&W G3 @ 350 = 700
1x PM 8100 G3 = 400 + 80
1 x PB G3 = 266
1 x Powerbase = 240
1 x 6100 = 66
1 x 6100 = 60
Apple 601 upgrade card = 66
Total RISC MHz = 1878 MHz

68k
Quadra 800 = 33
Quadra 950 = 33
Quadra 700 = 25
LC 575 = 33
PB 520 = 25
5 x Quadra 605 @ 25 = 125
3 x LC 475 @ 25 = 75
LC III = 25
2 x LC II @ 16 = 32
Portable = 16
Total 68k: 422 MHz

Thus, total Mac horsepower = 2300 MHz

Oh, yeah, I suppose I could technically include my work machine, pumping my total up to 4300 MHz ... but that might not be fair

Cheers!
