OK, i setup the tracker software on my IIci!!! (I thought it'd be nice to host it on a 68k machine... you know, "bros before hoes".) the only problem is that the documentation was 3 small paragraphs. So i'm not totally sure if it is working or not, but here's the address:

mlatracker.dyndns.org

for server admins- no password right now, if for some reason things get too out of hand, i'll be putting a password on. As far as logging your serving onto the tracker, i believe that there is a spot for trackers in the preferences. Just add that address and every time your server starts up it will contact the tracker.

for client users - same thing, just put the tracker address in and it should send back all the servers that are up and have told the tracker.

If for some reason anybody thinks there might be some issues, then email me. Also i'll be having it restart probably once a day automatically. until things look stable i'll won't be sending this to tracker-tracker, or anything like that.

It works fine...

BTW, the IIci can't use energy saver, but you can push the power button in and turn it 90 degrees to keep it on all the time.

I can't wait to get on it when I get home (hotline port's blocked by the firewall here at work )! I'm so glad we've finally got a tracker up, I've been having a hard time keeping track of everybody's servers.

Whee!

I'm on da tracker now...even though I have little traffic nowadays

If it isn't used much, It might be shut down until further notice, unless I get somethin that doesn't eat as much power, like a 950

hmm... the server stack has a total power supply capacity of about 600 watts....and yes, it makes the breakers pop and sizzle

I could always add a 26 gig mp3 folder to the mirror server, if you'd all like a collection to use w/ mpegdec on a 630 with a BigA$$™ IDE hard drive.

OK, this little IIci has really surprised me in it's stability (although being a tracker probably isn't the most processor demanding app..). i got it a while back at a surplus store, but never got around to using it. So what i was thinking is how about i send this to tracker-tracker and whatever places you all suggest to get the servers some action and also the forums? Let me know. I'll be gone until sunday to be a camp counselor again so i won't be able to do anything until then.
