It should, but why? use mac os 6.8 it's a lot better. Also you would not be able to use the laserwriter on system 1.0.

Congratulations, and welcome to the army. If that laser printer uses Appletalk, then you might look into getting an iPrint Ethernet-Appletalk bridge. It will let you connect your Plus into an Ethernet LAN and share your new(old?) laser printer with all your Macs.

Happy printing,

By Mac OS 6.8, he means System 6.0.8. It's available for free at Apple's FTP site at http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/System/Older_System/System_6.0.x/

If you need to run System 7 applications, System 7.0.1 is available at http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English-North_American/Macintosh/System/Older_System/System_7.0.x/
However, you probably don't want to run this without 4 MB RAM.

The System that originally came with the Plus in 1986 was 1.1, so that's the earliest OS that will run on it. However, I'll agree that System 6.0.8 is the best OS tun run on a stock Plus, unless you have 4MB of RAM, in which case 7.1 is good.

Nice find on the plus. System 6.0.8 is extremly useful for this model of mac. You can set it up to play classic games, to word process, or, best of all, to do email.

It's really a change to run eudora off a floppy and be able to read my LEM digests without the awful racket of a fan.
