Ok, I finally figgered out what I am going to do with a few of my old PCs I no longer utilize....

X-10 security system. They **should** be able to handle that without crashing every coupla minutes, right?

Right?!

Either that, or I can setup a catapult on my roof and start aiming for the Luddites in the 'hood.

ROTFLMAO

I like the catapult idea of hitting Windows thru windows with Windows.

You could always use a gutted peecee case for a giant Mac peripheral hack. With a hacksaw and a bit'o ingenuity, you could mount a scanner, external CD-ROM drive, and a coupla HDs inside. A single scsi connection on the back would connect to a daisy chain for the devices inside the case. And with a bit of electronic magic, you might be able to use the PC's powersupply to run all the peripherals (and get rid of those unsightly powerbricks). Also, that way you could turn on all that SCSI goodness with a single flip'o the switch.

Only a "serving suggestion," of course.

Is that AST Manhattan server box one of those mondo boxes with like dozens of drive bays and a 500 billion watt power supply? If so, you might even be able to add a Mac mobo along with all the peripherals (although the Mac might cry piteously at being entombed inside a peecee prison). While it won't win the coveted Black Turtleneck award for prettiest product design, it would be fun to have an uber-Mac with every imaginable peripheral inside a handy-dandy (if not quite movable) monolithic case.

Have fun dremelling.

I would give it a shot, except that after buying memory for my PB5300 and PB190, plus Clarisworks 4 and Quicken, cash flow is restricted (as in my wife's hands around my neck restricted) until next month. Besides, these systems have their own special little problems, like they don't like to read the hard drives all the time. So, I think a gutting is in order (they're only P133's) and I am thinking of maybe putting in 2 LC III mobos, two 4GB drives for each, (does anyone know of any SMP type software for Macs?) plus the CD-Rom drives, attach a SW1200 to the top along with a scanner and replace the side door with a box fan (gotta keep it cool, ya know).

Or, maybe I'll just do this:
