i still don't have all the signals mapped out, but i've got most of them charted in a spreadsheet for every last dumb@$$ 68030 PDS variation implemented by the demented design dunderheads out in the orchard.

Note on how things CAN be done:

WHILE COMPETING AGAINST EACH OTHER, PC manufacturers in the VESA alliance could manage to build mutually compatible 486 VLB "PDS" slots and equivalent motherboard installations. add in a dizzying variety of CPU speeds for an entire host of third party card manufacturers to fill and/or for themselves to build into their mobos in multiple slot implementations according to established rules allowing up to 3 (?) PDS devices, depending on the published electrical characteristics in an open standard.

now why do you think it was that Apple couldn't even get two slots to work the same in almost identical machines such as the SE/30 and the IIsi?

that vidcap card used with a microquadra board in a hack or built into a MiniDock for a Duo 280c or 2300c might be rather interesting, eh?
