My local walmart is having a blowout on Handspring Visor Neos. I picked "Scribble" up yesterday for $118 ($126 after tax.) He hooked up just fine with Ad Astra (pc) but tonight I'm going to introduce him to Galadriel (iBook).

Now it's in the right place I'd like to say Handspring seem a lot better for Mac support generally. I mean when I nearly bought mine I saw Handspring as the only alternative as they supported USB and Palm didn't....

Coolness.
Congrats on picking up the Neo- I've heard they're cool! I almost bought one back in feb, but I ended up getting a Palm VIIx (8 meg version) refurb on eBay... It's great, but I wish I could afford the internet service on it! My only real complaints are that a) it goes through batteries really quickly (even with IR receive turned off and the antenna down), and more annoyingly b) I'm unable to synch via IR connection, from my Palm to the IR port on my PowerBook G4. When the OS X version of the Palm software first came out, I downloaded the beta, but the IR sync didn't work at all... then version 1.0 came out, and the IR sync worked great! Sadly, since I've updated OS X to 10.1.5, the IR sync is dead again, and I'm left with no way to back-up or update my palm... sigh. I know, I know, I should just shell out and get an damn USB-to-serial adapter, but it would be soooo cool to just be able to aim the palm at the PBG4 and have everything sych up correctly... it would (kinda) fullfill my life-long desire to live on the Enterprise and walk around with a PADD all the time.
If anyone knows of a good way to get IR sync-ing working again, I'd sure like to hear about it- if you've got an idea, I can post more details about my setup and what's going wrong.
Thanks!
