Even though I no longer own it my old SE/30 lives on with it's 365 Meg replacement Hard Drive and 16 megs of RAM in my IIsi - The video card died on Azazel in 1996 (spring) I was in college and managed to find most of an old IIsi that I patched together with Azazels remaining innards -

I would love to here about other ppls classic Macs (my Sister-in-law has a Mac 128 K also!) :)

My 2 Compact Macs are my Classic II 10/40 and my 128k which has been upgraded to a 512ke with 800k floppy drives (one internal, one external) but still somehow manages to have the original logic board. As it turns out, on mine the RAM chips are socketed. Should i feel special?

And you're upset about having a stock Colour Classic? I'd love to get my hands on one of those! :)
I do, however, have an SE/30, which is a very nice machine in its own way. Certainly, I'm not upset about that.

A very nice machine in it's own way? The SE/30 is, in my opinion, the best of the classic macs. powerful, compact, and as expandable as one of those can get. I'd love to get my hands on one someday.

You can't have it! ;)
I'm not upset about owning the great CC, I'm upset that it's the only one I own.

I only have a Plus (2/20 external), SE (2/40/FDHD), and two Classics (2/40, and 8/80).

Me want Color Classic!

I am currently the proud owner of a 2 Compact Macs -

A Mac Classic
4MB RAM (Gotta love the expansion board!)
40MB Hard Drive
Running Sysem 7.1

A SE/30
I can't tell much about this one, except that it has 8MB of RAM, because it's mobo seems pretty well shot! And I was so close to one too! Drat!

Congrats Marchie on the Mod-ship status!

HMM.. Claccis Macs your Moderzator owns...

My ORIGINAL Mac was an SE SuperDrive, which was eventually upgraded with an 80 MB HD and 4MB RAM, it's around here somewhere, and it's actually my dads. It's being upgraded again with a 250 MB HD, internal CD (maybe), 16MHz processor card w/ FPU, and Ethernet Card.

as for the ones I own:
Classic 2
SE 800k
3x SE/30's, but they don't all work. I think I'll be able to get 2 working ones out of this, and turn the third into a MacQuarium of some description.

I would LOVE a Colour Classic or Colour Classic II.

Compact Macs are great.
I even have a Compact Mac carrying case :-)

That SuperDrive thing really bugs me. Next thing we'll have novices saying "Does your SE burn DVDs? WOW!"

Even better... "My G3 has a SuperDrive, a SuperDrive, and a SuperDrive!" hehehe... I can imagine the confusion that that would cause someone. (note: I do not have such a machine)

I agree with you on that one, Tallgeese... she's a great little machine! Of course, if I could find one of the SE/30 Ethernet cards to put in her, it'd be even nicer... :)
(That, and if I can fix the screen and cure her of her case of "sweep-itis!")

Some of the more "elite" (mac Snobs?) make a distinction between some of the floppy drives like this:

the Auto Inject high density drives the SE's had are SuperDrives, but the Manual Inject (ie the drives you have to stick your finger into to get the floppy in, that usually have a depression in the case so you can do it) are NOT SuperDrives.

I however think this is a superflous distinction.

For the record tho, I have an SE with 3 SuperDrives: 2 internal, and one external that I shoved in an external 800k floppies caseing. :-)

Duplicating Floppies was never easier, and it's possible to play Where in America is Carmen Sandiego without changeing the floppy every 5 minutes.

Well, I just got a Classic to complement my Color Classic. It even has an internal HD, but no internal ROM disk...
