Me and some friends had ditched a party and was walking around the houses when this dumbazz with a older 90's Ford truck with dumb lights flew by and I yelled at him FORD's suck, Chevy's rule. This guy then swirves around his tires are smoking and drives back. He runs out of his truck and goes up to me and says what the hell did you say. And I says nothing. It was a pretty cool night. And that was hecka funny. He was soo pieved, that damn rich boy.

Err , I think he was talking to me. Truth be told it was actually my sisters first car. The story is alot more believable when you find out that it was a Geo Storm. Told her I did, complete crap, but noooo she wanted a new car.

Anyway, what I think was finally ruled was that the fuel pump went bad, dumped a full tank of gas under the car on a hot summer day and it went up like a bomb.

Heh, she had been using my childhood blanky to cover up her cd player, damn thing was about 3 inches big when they recovered it. Amazingly enough the cd player it was covering still works like 8 years later.

Well... Geo Storm, that's some kinda rice burner car, i think like a Suzuki or Isuzu-powered POS.... so not a "true" GM car. And, how about those flammable Ford ignition switches that set many a Ford ablaze? LOL, i've seen many a Ford in the junk yard, nutten' but a burned out shell o crap. Me, I drive a "real" GM vehicle... a Chevy S10 Blazer! 181,000 miles to boot and still going strong! Always owned a Chevy, would never buy a Ford!

I drive a Dodge Shadow...

My sister drives a Ford Taurus...

Mom drives a Ford Aerostar...

and dad drives a Plymouth Colt Vista (Made by Mitsubishi)

Never had any problems with Ford cars. The 2 Aerostars we've had work wonderously, pulling everything from showmobiles to compost to 1.5 Tons of concrete.

And nobody builds a more durable or long lasting a truck as a Ford F-series.

The engine's a Mitsubishi-designed one in that Shadow.... I could go and also say that cars built by Chrysler suck too... at least any of 'em with any 4-banger or V6 engine designed by Mitsubishi. Such cars are known as the Mitsubishi Bomber. I dunno how many of those small/midsize cars built by Chrysler like in the early-mid '90s that I see just a smokin' out burned oil [blue] smoke 'cuz their piston rings are shot! Or how many of said cars are in the junkyard, 'cuz their cylinder heads cracked/warped, etc!

LOL i know. HOLDENS RULE!

Btw, did any other Aussie comrades hear on Channel 7 News the other night that Holden is going to manufacture a small number of Pontiac GTOs in the US which will actually be Holden Monaros? Schweeeeeeeeeeeeet.

But yeah, we have a 1984 Holden WB ute. 18 years on and the damn thing still runs like new. Holden is definately the Macintosh of all cars. And we still have the old ute, and use it all the time. Dad now also has a 2000 model Holden Commodore Executive as his company car. Very nice set of wheels, trust me. Ride is as smooth as hell, and the engine is very quiet. Dead silent if you turn on the stereo for a bit of Lorraine Lawson pumping through those 4 decent speakers with good bass...(Well, it will be when i *FINALLY* get another batt for my PowerBook 1400...)

But yeah, Holdens rule, Fords suck, and thats all i have left to say.

When they put a Chevy logo inside the Geo logo they ****ed themselves.

Anyway I got you beat. My Mustang tipped over 250,000 miles a couple months ago. That car is damn near bomb proof.

Yes, Fords suck! I have seen many of those wonderful aerostar vans in the local yard with bad engines. In the yard that I go to, the ratio of dead ford aerostars to dead chevy astros is about 5:1. EVERY chrysler in the yard with that mitsubishi engine is either blown up already, or had its head pulled upon arrival. I also saw a dodge spirit that had gone up in flames, pretty nasty!

How's about those ford 5.0 (302ci) engines that eat main seals, pan gaskets, and valve cover gaskets if the car sits for more than a month without running? I call that some wonderful engineering!

Don't even get me started on the electrical problems...

Didn't Deloreans have electrical problems too? Despite their cool doors and the fact that the owner got busted for drugs and the company went bye-bye and I want a Delorean but I cant find one.... I'm going to bed

'94 (convetible, and the less macho yet everlasting bulletproof 6). Otherwise known as "the nicest looking ones".

All this said I there are some Fords I wouldnt buy *cough* Explorer *cough*

And I wouldnt buy a new Ford until they rid themselves of Firestone who should have been shut down ages ago.

P.A.V looks better all the time but Id still never buy a GM car.

I have a 91 Shadow. It's actually very easy to work on yourself, you just need Metric tools.

Mine looks in bad shape, but mechanically is great, and she receives lots of wear and tear. I'll top 200,000 miles in about 18 months.

An Astro is a full size van, built on a Ram 1500 chassis, akin to the Econoline E-150, built on an F-150 chassis.

The Aerostar is a mini-van, built on a Ranger chassis, and GM doesn;t build mini-vans on truck chassis, only on cars. Look at the height difference between a Caravan and an Aerostar. In addition to the Ford being higher, it tows quite a bit more than any other minivan does.

I'm a firm beleiver in having purpose for the vehical you drive. Soccer moms, that won't drive their Explorers and Liberty's in the rain, should never have been allowed to buy them in the first place.

Likewise with trucks. I see any number of 17 year olds around here, driving their F150's, S-10's , Rams, and any number of other trucks... and all are in pristine condition. The heaviest thing put in the bed is a bookbag and the groceries. Again, no purpose. They should be driving an Neon or something (Buy american cars!)

Actually, the Chevy Astro van was built on an S10-like chassis and shared the same engine as the S10 [the 4.3L V6].

Mine's a Fairmont that's just a few months younger than me (and I'm 31 in July!). It's on 250,000 miles... and has been sitting there since I bought it 6 years ago - I've added another 100k I'm sure... back when I used to go to sydney every week and roll around drunk at bar broadway & the rocks...

i used to drive around my daddy's F-150 when i was 17 and my best friend drove around his father's not so pristine pickup too. let me tell you, 30 high school seniors partying in the back of two pickup trucks parked right next to each other, backwards, in a Drive-In watching Ape-O-Rama (the ENTIRE P.O.T.Apes cycle run back to back in one sitting <rolleyes>) is an interesting sight as long as you're not trying to pay attention to the nuances of the "plot" in a nearby parking space.

i think that was a NOBLE purpose! (used to be great with just the one pickup truck and the gf too! )

I'll never drive anything but a Ford... I qualify for the A-plan!

I've never had any problems with the 3 Ford's (Topaz, Tempo, Taurus) I've owned... Except that bigger Ford's like to hit 'em.

The Topaz was rear-ended by an Expedition, and the Taurus was in a (my)front-(his)side collision. Moron was driving with his lights off at 9pm (eastern), in a black F-150, in the middle of winter. The Taurus went away for a month and came back all better.
