God, that is so cute. Odd how the auction holder mentions those mods and stuff that try and put a G3 in the case...hmm.

Too expensive though. ~sigh~

I got my color classic for $5 australian (maybe around 2 pounds converted) then I got a LC575 for about the same price and I put the LC575 logic board in the color classic so then it was transformed to a 33Mhz 68040 no fpu mac.

Then I got hold of a 25Mhz 68040 with fpu and a 16MB ram module and the 25Mhz 68040 (overclocked to 33Mhz) ran so hot you could use it as a cooking appliance so I connected a 486 cpu fan to the hard disk power plug and screwed the fan onto the the 68040 heatsink and it's fine now.

I can play 128kbps mp3's on it with MpegDec (I used it for MpegDec testing).

One of the 'stralian apple 2nd hand places does G3 conversions of CCs - at a bit of a cost of course!. Wouldn't be too bad, except for having to use a G3 at 640x480 :D. They're here:

I got mine + an LC II for $50 AUS, along with an external CD drive. They can go as high as AUS $180!

I got mine for US$15!

The HDD is dead, though. I have to get a torx screwdriver to open it up and start the hacking!

Yes, regular Classics are a lot more common. Not to be elitist or anything...

at least the REALLY ugly ones are the rarer variety. when i first saw the cc in the mags i hated and it has barely grown on me enough to say i merely dislike its looks at this point.

man, that thing is one FUGLY CPU!

IMHO, of course!

Oh God. That one has sold for £142! That's like $300 or something, is it not?

~claws eyes out with a toothbrush video adjuster~

I thought I was being rich by spending £50 on a Quadra 800.

That means my 16Mhz cc is worth more than my 350Mhz K6-2 and two IBM 100Mhz pentium computers put together.

So much for computer speed.

Looks like a deadbeat bidder too...

Cheers
