As a confirmed (association) Football fanatic and England (not Britain IF YOU DON'T MIND!!) supporter I can tell you that I watched all 90 minutes of the match against Brazil and was very dissapointed. I was not dissapointed with the team, they gave their all and simply died of the heat in the end, it was 100+ degrees out there and Brazil were used to it, we were not. What is more I felt sorry for David Seaman, our goalkeeper, who was one of the best keepers in the tournament, conceeding only one goal before the Brazil game (in our first game v Sweden), and was beaten by a very good free kick to conceed the winner. The guy is 38 and probably played his last World Cup and was very upset, in tears in fact, after the game finished.

It's VERY interesting to see somone raise the matter of Enlgnad's dismissal in the quarter-finals when, later the same day rhe USA narrowly lost to Germany, yet no-one seems to have noticed! I felt sorry for them as well as they had the better play against the Germans and could have won it 5 times over had they finished their chances right but alas luck was not with the English speakers on Friday.

The day was brightened by my Finals results, I graduated as a Lower 2nd Class (equivilent to a C grade in the US system) and am now officially:

Mark D. Benson B.Sc. (Honours)

So there

Anyway. I hope Brazil win, Germany lose to them in the final and South Korea win the 3rd/4th playoff, 'cause I don't like the Turks.

English don't like being called "British"?
Just curious. No offence intended.

Not where Football (Soccer), Rugby and Cricket are concerned. Apart from other lesser team sports Britain is usually fine.
For example GBR compete in Athletics and the Olympic sports (hence why we never win the Olympic Soccer tourny - they won't let any of our Pro players in - yet they let anyone from Brazil, Africa, Argentina or the USA play - go figure??!!).

It's a funny place Britain, some sports we play together, some not. Usually we have a GBR team in sports where we can't muster enough English people to make up a good England side or England are the only nation who know how to play the game (see: Cricket).

Hope y'all happy now!
