I never knew such a beast existed, but low and behold, here it is.

Only, it costs waaaaaay to much to be justified. I mean, the only Nubus cards that would even be worth trying to transplant onto a Legacy PCI Mac would be either one of the few high-end, broadcast-quality video capture cards that came out in the early 90's or an AudioMedia II/ProTools setup. Either way, the cost of replacing them with PCI versions would probably be equal to or less than getting one of these things, not to mention the newer cards would be better all around.

Now, there are plenty of folks out there still doing professional audio/video editing on Nubus 68k's and PowerMacs who are unwilling to switch to PCI after making what would have been a huge investment in Nubus cards way back when. But, why would they then buy PCI PowerMac anyway? Unless, I suppose, they wanted to access to more than 256MB of RAM...

Also notice, at the bottom of the page...
System Requirements:
"Any PCI-based Macintosh system upto Beige G3 except 8100/80"

Um, the 8100 isn't a PCI machine to begin with.

I've bought that that thing, and it's great! A true dream come true! Infact, currently I'm happily typing away on my 7500 with that lovely Nubus breakout box, and my monitor running at 640X480 on my Toby card!

You can't be serious...you paid $2,150 so that you can run your 7500 off an ancient Toby card?!

No, of course not! I was making fun that they listed the Toby card as compatible with it, and I was like 'Now, why would they include that? Who would honestly spend that much money just to use a Toby card!?'

I think I can safely say that this is one of the most ridiculous computer products I have ever seen. I'm wondering if they meant $215. That would be understandable. I mean, sure, they seem to have a monopoly on this market, but this is absurd. I wonder if they'll ever sell one? Seems unlikely.

Thank god, Scuzzy! I didn't notice the winky at the end of your post and I thought maybe you'd gone insane...
