move the components to a custom pcb and work out a new hinge/clicking mechanism. pcb layout after a perfboard final proto as the next step. probably.

takin' the kid to see a few colleges today and tomorrow, see you in a couple of days, comrades!

prototyping board fitting is now complete:

ProMouseADB Hack Update

i dropped the use of the gray panel on the bottom in favor of a clear view of the bottom of the PCB, it was getting too ugly as i filed out enough clearance for the rotors. without it, the rotor action is flawless and it looks great.

maybe i'll just move the components to the perfboard and use multicolored jumper wires instead of laying out and etching a custom board. whatcha think? slick custom PCB etched for a factory look, or go with an artsy-fartsy prototyped look?

Those board you see with the Teflon trace->jumper wires running everywhere look pretty cool, a clear mouse with a mass of wires inside might look great.
