I have a friend who has a Duo 230c. He's never used the modem until now (well a month or so when he moves to South Africa). He recently re-installed OS 7.5.3 onto the hard disk. His problem is he does not know how to select the built in modem in the dial up software. Either AOL 3 or Remote Access insist he chooses Modem Port or Printer Port for the modem, even if he sleects the right script for the internal modem. I think he's just confused. Is there any extra extensions or anything the Duo needs to acess the internal modem?

those internals SUCK!!!!! to use aol, the modem should be off in the modem control panel so that it will be able to initialize the modem itself. (IIRC) if the modem is on, it thinks it's in fax/data mode or some such, dunno, it's been a LONG time.

give that a try and see if it helps.

Internal powerbook modems have a shelf life of about six months, if that. Chances are the modem is dead...

Most likely needs the PowerPort software to activate the modem-I just upped to the 68k.dns2g0 HL server...Go to Top of Page

No, if it's the standard Apple modem for the 230, then he needs the Apple Express Modem software.
