I can't remember if this one exists - but I'm converting a friend to using a 68k - a pizzabox LC even - and one thing he needs to be able to use for this one is MSN Messenger. Anyone know if there's a 68k version, and where to find it? Was it bundled with one of the IE versions like 2 or 3?ta, dana |

I don't think IE was ever bundled with MSN Messanger. I never even knew there was a 68k version of MSN messanger. You never know though._________________ Leutennant SCCHICAGO HotLineServer(closed): scchicago.dynodns.net Website(closed): http://scchicago.dynodns.net MyForumOnDelphi: http://forums.delphiforums.com/scchicago NOTE:HL AND HTTP SERVER ARE ONLY AVAILIBLE WHEN I'M ONLINE |

This was something a lot of people came to retromac68k back in the day, and nothing ever came of it. As far as i know there are no MSN clients for 68k._______________________ Sgt. Thelip Heavy Weapons Specialist 950 division Liberated Macs: 12 |

There are really no Microsoft or Yahoo Messenger clients for 68k, which really sucks, because I use Yahoo the most. Right now the only IM for 68k is AOL or ICQ. Yahoo Messenger does have a java-based client, and I think MSN may also, but I have yet to find a 68k browser that supports the version of java that it needs to run! 666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 I Have No Legs! |

according to Yahoo, you need IE or Netscape 3.0 or higher to use the Java version. They say it should even work in Windows 3.1! However, I've tried using it on a 68k mac using Netscape 4.08 and it doesn't work, same way it doesn't work in Opera on any OS. I'm pretty sure I enabled Java in NS 4.08, but I may have to re-check that I did.666th poster and 666th thread-creator Mod of the Mac II series Forums Total 68K Macs liberated: 7 I Have No Legs! |
