I just thought I'd let everybody know that I uploaded the two disk images and system requirements for ClarisWorks 1.0 for Windows [3.0 and 3.1] to the 68k MLA official Hotline server mirror. It's not quite for 68k, but hey - it's nifty and we're lenient!

The funniest part is the system requirements on the box [yes, I have a boxed copy]:
• PC with any 386 or 486 CPU
• Microsoft Windows 3.0 or 3.1
• One hard disk
• One floppy disk
• 2MB RAM
• VGA or better video

Was software always this ambiguous?!

OOohhH! Also, inside right with the two floppies [yes, its all on 2 floppies], theres a "5 1/4 disk request form"! It's great! But be on alert! You can only request 5 1/4 disks if your computer doesn't have a 3.5" drive.

I wonder how they enforced that...

I like how they say you need "One Hard Disk." Two just won't do it! Don't even think about three!

If it was anything to do with IBM PC yes it was always that ambiguous.

They either got you to send the 3.5" disks back with the form or they generally assume you don't want to replace your 3.5" disks with an inferior, slower and more easily damagedd media.

Good thing Mr. Jobs stuck with the 3.5" for the Mac!

COOL!

this means I can run it in the quadra 630 DOS, and share files seamlessly between both environments

RAFLMAO

yes maybe y'all dont see it!

The Mac o.s especially is so constrictive, I feel like I am being suffocated.

such as Imagecopy for atari will run on my Quadra(running MagicMac) on a Milan (MilanMagic 040/060cpu) Falcon (Tos 4.x 040/060cpu) TT (TOS 3.x 030 cpu) and st's be they 8/16 or 32 mhz and any TOS(maybe not any but most) up to 2.06. I am quite sure it also runs on thes operating systems:-

Mint
NaES
Magic(any flavour)
MultiTOS
Geneva

the rule for atari thing is that if it is a well written Gem program that dosnt call on "Specific hardware" then it'll run on virtually any of these machines/os's.

Dont get me wrong I am now using my 68k Mac fulltime and it is doing the job better than the pc I had and better than my st I had & overall for practical use it is the best. But I would tweak a few things and a core flexibilty for software would be good.

Yes I am sorry but the fact that mostly up to system 7 on apples things were compatible is not the best boast.

maybe it'll run on my 486.
The reason I say that is because it has Windows NT 4.0 on it rather than Windows 3.1. (the computer came with 3.11 originally.

and WOW! You need your own floppy disk in order to use this software. I don't like the idea of that!

Was that a true lament or a mocking of shaktiman?

A true lament. I wasn't mocking anybody except maybe the guy who wrote the system requirements on the box initially.
