don't see why not, a 10,000 rpm drive might run a little hot, dunno.jt ™. Trash Hauler: call sign: eight-ball C.O. AC-130H SpecOps 68kMLAAF Edited by - Trash80toG-4 on 14 Jun 2002 07:47:04 |

It is a 68 pin SCSI drive, wouldn't you need a 50 pin adaptor for it to work in a mac?Wonko The Sane Engineer-in-training 3 Macs Liberated "You can't possibly be a scientist if you mind people thinking that you're a fool."- Wonko The Sane |

Uhuh, nice drive. Similar to the pair I have but newer and 2x the size. quote:

Mine don't seem to excessively. Seagate driver naturally run hot, that's the way they make them, it means they are more heat tolerant. quote:

This is a waste of time if you intend to use it permanently. I have 1 68-pin to 50-pin adapter kicking about that I use for rescue jobs on 68-pin drives but I don't use it permanently. Using them on 68-pin drives is a massive waste of potential. Get the FWB Jackhammer card (NuBus type card not PCI) and attach one of those to it and you should get approx. 12MB/s. Ar boost from 4.5MB/s on the stock 500MB. -- Mark Benson FlatPackMacs http://fpm.gotdns.com 2nd Lieutenant - 68kMLA LC Quartermaster Flat Packing Macs for 68k MLA airlift excercises Macs Liberated = 14! |
