I thought i'd try to keep things linear a little bit so i'm starting a new post about my videovision studio card. Ok, my videovision studio card w/ extra ram is a very sweet card. I haven't messed with it enough to know what exactly the performance is for 2 reasons:

1) I haven't gotten around to it. I got that card around the time I got my 8500 and i captured with that.

2) I got it from a friend who said it didn't work anymore, but i think it does. ( i have tired it, but i'm not sure if it's reliable anymore )

3) At the time when I was messing with it, i didn't have a suitable hard drive, but I do now, so i'm going to mess with it tonight.

From what I read, it's a mid level professional card that should out-perform my stock 8500's, but now it's got a 420 mhz g, 768 meg ram, and ultra ata 66 card w/ 40 gig 7200prm drive, i don't know if it really would be faster. I had software at one time and when I find it again, i'll post a link or put it on somebody's server. My room is so trashed right now, i'll first have to clean it up before i dive into a new project.

Chances are i'll put mine in either a q650 with 46 meg ram and a 2.1 barracuda drive or a 950 with 208(?) meg or ram and the same drive. the only reason i don't want to use the 950 is because the machine will probably start out with a tv, i live in an attic so it's too far to carry 950's up and down stairs all the time.

If the rest of you with this card want to benchmark it, that would be cool. it'd be neat to get a 68k "tivo" (or replay) up and running.

As far as value goes, i don't have a clue. They are still (from what i read a year ago) great cards, but the nubus version isn't worth near the amount of the pci (which i would kill for). I would consider it to be the highest quality nubus capture that i know of. so take that for what it's worth.

Sorry about the long post. i've been wanting a reason to mess with this for about a year, but things just pile up and that was forgotten about til now.
