I'm trying to figure out how to get audio to play through the built-in speakers and the headphone jack at the same time.

I tried un-checking the pref box in Monitor Sound that says "mute speakers when headphone jack is in use" (or somethign to that effect) and what it actually did was mute the headphone jack!

are you even supposed to be able to do that? that's not the way headphone jack contacts are constructed or wired for normal function!
