I just bought an Apple PowerCD and I love playing around with but I'm starting to wonder, here are my questions:

1. What did the original PowerCD sell for back in '93?
2. What's the point of a detachable base?
3. Can I still make photo's cd with CD-Burner software?

Its not a burner it plays Kodak Gold cds and audio cds and can be used as a stand alone cdrom drive.

Cyberwolf said it. It's a SCSI 1x CD-ROM drive and can be hooked up to a stereo to play audio CD's with an optional remote and those buttons on it. Don't worry, I'm not some kind of expert. There was a big discussion about it a while ago. The detachable base doesn't seem too useful to me. No answer there

Im 99% sure that mac-mac was the guy who sniped me with 12 seconds left.

Oh well thems the breaks I suppose.

Oh yeah and the detachable base keeps it at an angle so that it looks cool and so you cant see the bg honkin scsi cable.

I just got it, but not from ebay. I bought it through a Canadian Mac trading post thing.

I know it's not a cd-burner but those PhotoCD's are just too cool. I want to make PhotoCD's of my own with another computer that has a burner. Is the PhotoCD format still supported by toast or easy cd creator?

Oh ok 7 minutes before you posted someone sniped me on ebay for a powercd with 12 secods left.

Anyway, Im pretty sure Toast 5 will burn them. I know something will I just cant rememberr exactly where I saw it...

Just checked toast and didnt see it. I know I saw it somewhere but I cant remember where. I have to get up in three hours and to a whole lot of driving because im going on vacation but if nobody has come up with an answer by the time I get back I'll figure it out.

(iPhoto maybe? Nero maybe?)

I'm not sure that recent versions of Toast would do it, becuase PhotoCD is kind of dead these days.
