The 2 MB of RAM in an LC is soldered on to the motherboard, not on a SIMM. So no, it can't be removed.GORDOOM Commander, Academic Operations Reserve (University of Toronto, St. George Campus) total Macs liberated: 19 (as of May 29, 2002) "...the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do." |

If there was extra SIMMS in the LC though, the answer would be yes.~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0

There aren't 2MB of RAM soldered onto the mobo of my LC! I have a chip in a special ram-socket thats marked "FOR USE WITH MAC LC ONLY"! Thats my 2MB chip!_________________ Leutennant SCCHICAGO HotLineServer(closed): scchicago.dynodns.net Website(closed): http://scchicago.dynodns.net MyForumOnDelphi: http://forums.delphiforums.com/scchicago NOTE:HL AND HTTP SERVER ARE ONLY AVAILIBLE WHEN I'M ONLINE |

That would be your vram (note the special ram socket) LC's and LC II's use 30 pin simms, in pairs. 2 megs of ram is soldered on the mobo. BTW, you probably can't tell the RAM soldered on unless you know a lot about ICs - it isn't a stick of RAM soldered in like a fixed 'slot', just normal black ICs on the mobo.~Coxy - Leader, Tactical Operations Unit Mayor of NuBus City v3.0

So, you're telling me that that is that elusive VRAM socket that I've been looking for??? COOL! Although I've come to find that my previous problem was caused by the limitations of the monitor, not the computer._________________ Leutennant SCCHICAGO HotLineServer(closed): scchicago.dynodns.net Website(closed): http://scchicago.dynodns.net MyForumOnDelphi: http://forums.delphiforums.com/scchicago NOTE:HL AND HTTP SERVER ARE ONLY AVAILIBLE WHEN I'M ONLINE |
