I am running Netscape 4.0.8(if I remember correctly) on my Quadra 840av. It is sometimes slower than others but in general I would love to see an increase in performance. settings that I can remember are:-My 040 processor cache is on
I have whacked my disk cache up to 7680k
I have disabled my virtual memory Netscape Automatically load images
enable javascript
enable style sheets
enable autoinstall accept cookies Control panels I have 37 control panels installed How can I disable control panels ? Pages I have difficulty with are ; lycos.com
bbc/teletubbies.co.uk
gobycoach.com I have 84 meg of memory and am expecting another 64 meg to whack it up to 128 meg, and am seriously considering ram doublers to get up to 256 meg. shaktiman |

Are you on dial-up or broadband, I forgot?You can disable control panels by going into the extentions manager control panel and creating a new/modifying the current set and rebooting. This should help a lot. Ixnay on the RAM doubler, 128 will be more than you ever need, trust me. That and using it will decrease by an inverse amount any performance gain you hope to obtain! 666th poster and 666th thread-creator

There is a control panel called WebFree that blocks the ads in Netscape. It works pretty well, and speeds up page loading significantly. I am using dial up.here in the uk we have been completly shafted. We have to pay alot for broadband putting it out of reach for a great many people and I am sure bussinesses(small bussinesses?). Our gevernment seems content to throw away good bussiness. If you live in america you go click click clikck if you live in uk you go click and then the browser says hang on 50 americans just got there before you. I used WebFree on my IIci when it was my main mac, so it defiintely works on 68k. I still use it on my G3 just to stop those stupid popups. Artillery Commander/Engineer, 68kMLA
