The joke forum Power Macintosh's describtion reads..." Of course, I'm just kidding!" Shouldn't that be "Of course, We're just kidding!" ?Jeremy "I'll see you on the Dark Side Of The Moon" - Pink Floyd Covert Ops 68k Hacks General Macs Liberated:18 ENTER THROUGH THE GATES |

As we don't do PPCs, its a waste of pixels as it is. I don't see what makes it worthy of the phosphors of the display connected to my LC630, or my TV. -------------------------- Pizzabox LCs RULE!!!!!!! Warrior maclover5 68k Macintosh Liberation Army Number of 68ks Liberated: 6

Well, it's not like your 630 can push pixels very well to begin with... -------------------- keeper of the website , master of the Quadra/Centris Stick of Justice™, and figure-head of the Peoples' PDS Republic -------------------- |

as I understand, the performa (lc) video system couldn't output, my Quadra can't output a whole 64o by 480 to a tV, it can do 512 by 384 nice though (the one thing that makes the performa a bad video game system)
I'll have to start PPCmla or amla (allmac liberation army) actually, acency sounds cooler... Official 68k videographer |

Actually, I have an Apple Presentation System connected, which is a little black box that connects to the DB-15 video port on the back of your Mac and has Composite RCA and S-Video out ports for connecting to a TV or VCR. Great box. If you want to run the iTunes visualiser, a game, or a QuickTime movie on a TV on the cheap, get one. You won't be dissappointed. -------------------------- Pizzabox LCs RULE!!!!!!! I would like a "ppc & higher" forum, cos sometimes I go into the lounge & click a few topics & 75% of it seems to be ppc & higher orientated. If ppl wanna talk about these they should have somewhere to go, I can understand them using 68kmla cos we have the best "mac" forum. Put them in a little forum of thier own! shaktiman Quadra 840av 128MB ram 2MB vram cd drive(caddy),1 caddy!:-)1.44 floppy drive, inject :-(1.2 gig drive 2 monitors 15" & 14" os 8.1 56k modem Stylewriter 1200 Zodiac speakers Umax 1220s scanner 3 year old son! |

I've never actually tried going into the PowerMacintosh forum; is entry/posting actually restricted or does the forumn description turn everyone away by itself?Personally, I agree with the need for a PowerMac forum. There is enough existing discussion in other forumns to warrant it. Also, from a liberation/rescue standpoint, there are a lot of low-end PPCs out there that need our help! <<<john>>>

PPC topics keep the lounge a happenin' place!AFAIK, it was locked from day one as a joke. the MLA's premise was the need for a 68k ONLY forum because all the people on MAF with PPC problems crashed the 68k forum to ask the MLA's founding "fathers" *little kiddies! * WTF to do about their problems for some unknown reason . . . been there, done that, closed issue, the MLA founding members said nay, it'd violate the 68kMLA's reason de etre. (something like that!) originally, i thought a PPC forum here would be a good idea too, but the way things are working out seems fine to me. 68kMLA and Applefritter are a perfectly bookmatched set of complementary sites, the amount of overlap that we have already is just about right, IMHO. i suggest that the rest of the comrades who have serious PPC issues sign up over there, just as the fritter/hacker (PPC fraterinazing ) types with a serious interest in toys with 68k Cachet (or abandonware ) tend to be 68kMLA comrades in arms also (or should be). dunno, it's kinda nice having two complimentary clubhouses in which to hang out online. there's enough overlap that either could almost stand on its own as a one-stop source for mac support and to increase the overlap would probably dilute both. the cross-pollination seems good for both, it's a beneficial symbiotic relationship, IMHO. jt ™. Trash Hauler: call sign: eight-ball C.O. AC-130H SpecOps 68kMLAAF p.s. IMHO, it'd be a WHOLE lot better if everybody used the same UserID on both sites tho! why are so many comrades posting over there incognito? Edited by - Trash80toG-4 on 19 Aug 2002 08:03:53 |
